SAN DIEGO COUNTY FLOOR COVERING ASSOCIATION
HARDSHIP FUND GUIDELINES
The SDCFCA Hardship Fund is committed to financially assisting those Members, or their employees, who are experiencing a catastrophic illness, severe disability, or other personal financial hardship.
The SDCFCA Hardship Fund is available to an employee, spouse of an employee, or child of an employee whose company is a current Member in good standing of the San Diego County Floor Covering Association.
An eligible beneficiary of the SDCFCA Hardship Fund must have a catastrophic illness or injury and/or have financial need. In addition, financial need for such things as funeral expenses for surviving family members or similar financial hardships may be considered for relief.
A potential beneficiary may be considered for relief from the SDCFCA Hardship Fund in one of two ways:
- Applying directly to SDCFCA by downloading the application from the website, completing the form with description of need, and submitting it to SDCFCA; or
- Nomination by a SDCFCA Member in good standing or directly by a Board Member.
DETERMINATION OF BESTOWMENT OF FUNDS:
The bestowment of SDCFCA Hardship Funds to an eligible beneficiary will be confirmed by a two-thirds (2/3) majority approval by private ballot of those Board Members in attendance at the next Board Meeting after a request is submitted.
SOLICITATION OF DONATIONS:
A Donation Card will be available on the SDCFCA website for those Members who wish to donate directly to the Hardship Fund.
The budget for annual donations to recipients from the SDCFCA Hardship Fund is not to exceed five percent (5%) of the available funds in the general fund. Payment to any individual is not to exceed $500.00 per year for the same individual.
