SAN DIEGO COUNTY FLOOR COVERING ASSOCIATION
HARDSHIP FUND GUIDELINES
MISSION STATEMENT:
The SDCFCA Hardship Fund is committed to financially assisting those Members, or their employees, who are experiencing a catastrophic illness, severe disability, or other personal financial hardship.
ELIGIBLE BENEFICIARIES:
The SDCFCA Hardship Fund is available to an employee, spouse of an employee, or child of an employee whose company is a current Member in good standing of the San Diego County Floor Covering Association.
CRITERIA:
An eligible beneficiary of the SDCFCA Hardship Fund must have a catastrophic illness or injury and/or have financial need. In addition, financial need for such things as funeral expenses for surviving family members or similar financial hardships may be considered for relief.
CONSIDERATION:
A potential beneficiary may be considered for relief from the SDCFCA Hardship Fund in one of two ways:
- Applying directly to SDCFCA by downloading the application from the website, completing the form with description of need, and submitting it to SDCFCA; or
- Nomination by a SDCFCA Member in good standing or directly by a Board Member.
DETERMINATION OF BESTOWMENT OF FUNDS:
The bestowment of SDCFCA Hardship Funds to an eligible beneficiary will be confirmed by a two-thirds (2/3) majority approval by private ballot of those Board Members in attendance at the next Board Meeting after a request is submitted.
SOLICITATION OF DONATIONS:
A Donation Card will be available on the SDCFCA website for those Members who wish to donate directly to the Hardship Fund.
FINANCIAL PARAMETERS:
The budget for annual donations to recipients from the SDCFCA Hardship Fund is not to exceed five percent (5%) of the available funds in the general fund. Payment to any individual is not to exceed $500.00 per year for the same individual.
